Espoo

Three saunas on the Espoo shore.

Matinkylä and Kivenlahti sit by the sea, Laaksolahti on the shore of Lake Pitkäjärvi. All three swim all year round: from the beach in summer, at the winter swimming spot in winter. You book online, an hour at a time: a seat in a shared session, or the whole sauna for your group.

The hour is sauna time. Arrive 15 minutes early to change, and take your time changing afterwards: the whole visit takes about 90 minutes.

Matinkylä

A sauna container on Matinkylä beach, with a panoramic window straight out to sea. In summer the shortest route from the sauna to the water is about 60 metres. The winter swimming spot is about a 120-metre walk away.

Good to know

Before you go.

Do I need a membership?

No. You book and pay online, and the door codes arrive by email right after payment. At Matinkylä and Kivenlahti the changing room door opens with a wristband kept in the key box beside the door – the key box code comes in the same message.

How long does a visit take?

The hour you book is all sauna time. Arrive 15 minutes early to change, and take your time changing afterwards. Plan about 90 minutes for the whole visit.

Can I book a private sauna?

Yes, when a private sauna is offered for that session. The booking page shows the exact price.

What about winter?

Every location is open all year, and winter swimming is available at each one. Never enter the ice hole alone. Winter is arguably the point.

What do I bring?

Swimwear, a towel and a water bottle. Your own bench towel is a good extra. In winter, also winter swimming shoes or sandals.

When do I get the door codes?

By email, right after payment. At most locations one code opens both the changing room and the sauna. At Matinkylä and Kivenlahti there is a key box beside the changing room door, and its code comes in the same message. The wristband inside opens the door. Your booking confirmation says which applies to you.
